 Amaryllis flowering bulbs, are the easiest to bring to bloom. This can be accomplished indoor or out, and over an extended period of time. The amaryllis originated in South America's tropical regions.


Amaryllis planting time is October until the end of April. Blooming time is late December until the end of June. Flowering time is seven to ten weeks. Amaryllis planting of larger bulbs will produce more flowers. Always store bulbs not being planted right away in a cool place around forty degrees.

When the leaves begin to yellow in early fall, cut the leaves back to about two inches from the bulb and remove the bulb from the soil. Clean the bulb and place in a cool place no warmer than forty degrees for no less than six weeks, after six weeks or more you may remove the bulbs whenever you are ready to replant.
